"I’m too out of shape for Martial Arts. I probably wouldn’t be able to keep up with the rest of the students."

Initially, yes, it's going to be a little tough. It is difficult to learn new skills. It will be a little challenging at first until you become more physically fit and build up your stamina. The more you attend classes the more physically fit you become. The Dojang is a supportive environment. No one is going to criticize you for being out of shape, or judge you for being overweight. All I ever ask of my students is they do their best and train at their own pace. You don't need to lose weight before you start Karate. Karate helps you lose weight. There always has to be a first step if you want to improve your life. If you want to Be Your Best, starting Martial Arts training can be your first step on your path to getting in shape.
